I need to change the handle on my 44593 Craftsman Microtork Torque Wrench, 25-250 in. lbs.

Sears sells a new handle for like 8$ and im trying to figure out how to get the old one off :\ Im trying to figure out if there is a way to do it without throwing off the calibration.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hmmmm, well I got the old handle off, I guess ill just get another wrench from Sears and a replacement handle and calibrate my old one based on the new one. At best ill get 2 working wrenches, at worst ill at least have a new one.

Thanks though!

I had a Craftsman torque wrench. The calibration nut loosened up on its own, rendering it useless. Fixed, and recalibrated (I have to tools to do that.) Within a week it broke again! The final fix was a Proto certified torque wrench that I love, has none of the problems the Craftsman has, and will probably live as long as I do.

I have a Matco 1/2in torque wrench, 25-250ft lbs i think?

I just cheaped out and got the Craftsman because its in-lb which does come in handy for some stuff but I dont use it as much as the larger wrench.

Maybe one of these days ill get a higher end in-lb wrench and ill probably add a few more torque wrenches at some point.
