Channellock 50S Pliers

Or do you know of another reputable company with the same size pliers?

Unfortunately I don't think channellock still makes any tiny pliers like that. Knipex makes a small, pointy pair like that, but $. They have the 3037's but I don't think they are nearly as slender.

I think snap on has a set like that if I remember. I would say look on their site but it will just piss you off. If you have a catalog look in that. The new site is worthless.

Yeah, the 50S pliers are my grandfathers pliers, i would like to get my own though. I have many uses for them, making paracord crafts for people, as well as electronics work in cars (i do a lot of wiring in cars for audio, aftermarket electronics, etc.). I know those size pliers work well, i was suprised to see them not in the channellock lineup anymore. I don't care if they aren't channellock, but i'd like a well made pair, just nothing ridiculously expensive.

I was a pro audio and electronics installer for almost 20 years. You in the biz? I now work for a manufacturer. I still do a lot of remote starts and electrical work(have ASE a6) actually doing more electrical now. Have a project 62 scout I have to wire the entire truck. I mean everything. Sitting in the garage now. Have a couple remote starts this weekend. I have the snap on small needle nos and they are great. I have not found a needle nose plier in any size that has better grip than snap on

Yeah the snap on ones are really nice, but I don't know if I can spend that on one pair of pliers. The little needle nose, automatic wire strippers and screw drivers are mainly what I use, and the small pliers are the only thing I don't own. I need a soldering iron as well, but the pliers are more important lol.

Don't go crazy on the iron. I have the craftsman gun and pencil iron for the bench. I also have a snap on butane. You don't need it but it's nice. DO NOT buy any snap on soldering guns. The replacement tips cost almost as much as a new gun. If you are going to use it a lot get one that you can get replacement tips fast and cheap. I have a stock of tips for the gun and iron. When I owned my shop I would do 400+ remote starts a year. Every one soldered connections. That's a lot of tips used.

I currently use a wall lenk gun from the matco truck. It's a good gun. I've used butane but the amount I solder id rather have it wired. Only time it's useful is for under dash and in dash soldering. Most soldering I do is on the bench. Do you guys know if craftsman or someone else makes a 50s sized Plier? I need the fine tip an the thin diameter.

Yes craftsman does. Made in china if you don't mind. Also Kobalt(lowes) has a similar set. Not expensive but I will say I owned them both and ended up with the snap on. These are not a tool I used everyday but when needed they can be a life saver. I also think Klein makes a set like that. Might be something to look into.

Going to be more reasonable than snap on and way better than craftsman. If I would have known about these I would have went this way. But the snap on guy was there they were already in my hand so what the hell.

Check out the Xcelite pliers. USA made, excellent quality and reasonable cost. I probably own a dozen pairs of Xcelite pliers, dykes, etc.

I have an old Excelite 56 I bought 30-40 years ago. I don't find it listed anywhere as being available anymore. Mine has served me well for many years.

i believe i have those exact pliers, got them ordered from grainger a month ago at work. pretty sure they are the same size... 5 3/4" sounds right.
