Just perusing the channellock website, most of their slip joint pliers are no longer listed: 546 548 5410 516 and 537. The 548’s were personal favorites of mine.

They also seem to have fewer Linesman models than they once did but that is less surprising to me. I don’t know many people buying 7” & 8” linesman’s.

548s are my favorites too. Seems odd they'd be dropped. Maybe something new is coming?

Noticed that yesterday, thought it was just a website glitch that wouldn’t allow me to click on the professional lineup to look at the 548’s. Thats a bummer if theyre getting rid of them.

I thought that too at first. However, I haven't been able to find any of those models in stock at the usual sources.

Oh, Garage Journal... where else could people just happen to notice - by part number - which models are missing from the manufacturers webpage :D

I can't remember the last time I've used slip joint pliers. What do you guys use them for that you like them? I can't think of anywhere I wouldn't rather use either a plier with a solid joint, or a tongue and groove style.

On the other hand, I do like using linemans pliers for general purpose use. For electrical work I'll stick to my 9-1/2" set, but for other work the smaller ones can be useful.

548's are my favorite as well. I have been sending them messages for months via their contact form with no response.

Funniest thing said here this year. Maybe even this week.
