I'm in on the giveaway as for thoughts on giveaways someone on here gave away a box onetime that went over really well. Maybe put together some custom sets of quality tools such as a beginners set, pro set, master set and such.

The problem with more complete sets is that most potential winners don't really need so many tools. Beginners tend to flock to ToolGuyd around winter holidays and Fathers Day, but most of the regulars are guys who already have well established tool collections.

There's no way I can afford to give away a pro set, and it would be difficult to convince anyone to sponsor such a giveaway.

That's the hard part about giveaways - what would appeal to DIYers and pros that have neatly everything they need?

I forget the name (old age) but I call it a thread checker on a wire string. It has a male/female part and it comes in two colors on one string; (black for metric/and chrome for sae. So if you have a bolt/nut you can tell in a rather fast time what the thread pitch is so you can buy it at the hardware store. I think every DIYer and every pro would love to have one and it will not cost you much money.

i like that idea. just small usa or good quality tools that arent nesacaraly made in the usa. maybe a screwdriver set, one of those dog bone wrenches maybe. stuff the average joe should have but doesnt know it. maybe one of those drill bit/thread taping charts
