I bought a set of these a couple years back. Yes, they are made in China. I knew that going in, but they looked cool and wanted to add to my CL collection. Have used them and am really impressed. Metal is tough as nails and even with heavy use, the phillips drivers have not deformed or changed at all. The metal bolster goes all the way thru so you can use them as demolition screwdrivers if you want and beat on the top with a hammer. They also have hex blades so you can put a wrench on them. I've decided I like them so much, I keep them as a "clean" set of drivers to be used where I don't want greasy tools to screw up a job. For the price and quality, I don't think you can go wrong. YMMV.

Ive used them for prying and beating primarily and was impressed. got a few sets at sams club
I don't like import screwdrivers even for backups.

These have been the absolute worst set of screwdrivers I have ever used. I almost literally thought they had molded a stick of butter into the phillips tip. That's how soft they are. I wish I were kidding too. Heck, even my HF green/orange set is 10 fold better than these.
I will admit that the bit driver works fine because I can actually put in some quality tips.

They'll be in my tool box with a set of the nut drives as soon as they come out!
I'm hoping menards carries these. That 14,20,25% or whatever it is bag will be full of channellock pliers and drivers.

Hmm the ones I got were black instead of red. Can't say I used the Phillips tips for much. Compared to all of the other screwdrivers we had they were the nicest though. The rest were various kinds you find at Menard Sears farm & fleet etc. Compared to my Wihas or even the cman pros I had before they aren't as nice but that's not really their target market.
I love having good cheap screwdrivers I can improperly use and not worry if I break one. These held up very well to that abuse. Most other cheapish ones were like butter and bent but these were strong with her shafts IIRC. I used the large long flat heads for allison clutch pack snap rings. Cheaper ones bend, cman pros just flex, these and the Wihas do a great job.

I am willing to bet the USA manufacturer is Pratt-Reed. The nut drivers pictured look exactly like the Pratt-Reeds at Menards.

I've gotten a couple sets of those at SAMs around New Years when they were marked down to $10. I keep them on the pegboard by my workbench. They get used for lots of non-screwing tasks. The through handle shafts make them work a lot better for beating things.
I used one to drive a bearing race put of a differential. Couldn't get on it with a regular punch. They are really tough.

I guess the (low end) striking screwdrivers don't have bolsters (either or situation)...bummer, that would be pretty useful.
Yeah. We have canadian tire here. They just had the annual fathers day 40% off channellock sale. You can buy quality made in USA for less than ****** import ****!

I bought a mastercraft set from Canadian tire years ago that I could afford to pass up. Now you guys are planting seeds of discontent. I will be watching as my Channellock pliers look lonely.
