I've got the middle and small sized set of these. For how often I use them (not too often, but when you need them you need them) they work great. There is a TICK of slop in the engagement and the offset due to the way they allow for reverse (in or out style). I believe these are made by Lang Tools.

I suspect if I used daily I'd have a set of dedicated snap ring pliers with fixed style tips.

Mine were good for 1-2 years of occasional light use. They started flinging snap rings across the room and finally broke a couple of the tips. I got the Snap On SRPCR112 to replace them.

One of my coworkers has a pair that I've used a few times. For snap ring pliers with interchangeable tips, I think its about the best one on the market. If you only encounter snap rings every once in awhile, and just want 1 pair of pliers to throw in your toolbag, its hard to choose a better pair than the Channellock ones. Way better than the $5 HF style interchangeable snap ring pliers.

I prefer the Knipex (or Knipex style) snap ring pliers with individual pliers for each type, but that's only if you have the luxury of keeping 8-16 individual snap ring pliers around (and the budget for them also).

I use them. Maybe not the best, but they’re fine for me as an amateur. The tips could be better ground I think, but that’s a personal preference.

I have them and they actually work well and pretty stout. I have a bunch others (one trick ponies) from proto, ideal and S-O. I tend to always reach for this one and the removable tips has been very valuable. A while ago at a garage sale, I scored about 20 pairs of different styles of tips (steel and copper) that I can swap out or grind a size/shape I need.

I'm glad I have them and I don't really need the others, they're not getting used or as satisfying. Not a good photo but I was asking them to perform above the call of duty and they didn't disappoint.

Edit: Mine are the 907g, A little different and smaller but has been holding up well. The one I am interested in is the Channel lock 929 with the ratchet feature.

I have the Craftsman version of those. Identical in every respect except for the color of the grips. They're a great 'one size fits most' set. That said, they are not good in accessing snap rings that are recessed. I wish they made tips that were longer to compensate for that, though I guess any extra length would put greater stress on them.

I have them and have used them for years with no issue. I have other types but always reach for them. I also have the next size up they make as well. For occasional use they work great.

For larger snap rings I bought a HF icon set and have been happy.

Nice gift! I have the same ones with a different brand name on them. There are several brands that sell/sold the same ones. Haven't had any problems with mine but Channellock has a great warranty.

I bought those for a down and out buddy of mine who does mechanic stuff on the side. They feel and work the exact same as the lang set i have. I really like em. Good quality. I dont think they really replace the dedicated snap ring pliers, but they are great in a mobile kit.
