I saw this posted on FB a little while back and then forgot about them. Im guessing they are made by the same place as the Husky and Craftsman USA screwdrivers?

I've been waiting months for these to be available. Shouldn't be to much longer.

I'll give them credit for making in the US, but objectively speaking what makes these any different than the Husky or Lowes (neither of which are still available IRRC)?
I'd like to see them make the same handle available as the China ones or something different from the traditional VA/Stanley grips.

Nothing different. I just like the blue handles. :willy_nil

I have never liked that type of handle. In fact I hate them. As soon as any sweat or grease gets on them they become almost useless. I applaud them for having them USA made. I just would have like to have seen a Craftsman Pro type handle available too.

I LOVE the craftsman pro handles. Found a set of torx on clearance and then pieced me a set together of singles on sears.com.

Id really love to get a set of the cman pros someday as my cman pro prybars have proven their worth. Im happy to see channellock making screwdrivers in the USA now, regardless if the handles aren't that great.

I like Channellock too, but where are the size markings on the top, comfort grips, strike caps, etc. These seem very boring and alot harder to warranty than cman acetate handles. I'm all for USA too, but Channellock could have partnered with someone like Wiha for the cool blue color, textured grips, etc.

Where are they going to distribute/sell these? Part of their Do It Best Hardware store items?

I'm pretty sure Channellock partnered with a USA company for their new grips on their Code Blues, maybe they could have made some comfort Code Blue Screwdrivers?

Does this mean they are discontinuing their China made series? They were decent.

Selling Screwdrivers just seems like a hard area to compete in...so much competition with HF basically give some away for free and cman selling truckloads of them to homeowners.

Has Channellock ever tried making them themselves?

Paging....Ryan DeArment.

Doubtful. I posted about these back in May - http://toolguyd.com/channellock-screwdrivers-usa/

The 10pc set will be priced at ~$70. That's well above Western Forge's iconic driver prices.

Channellock won't be produced these themselves, and won't tell me who the OEM partner is.

Meh, when was the last time you actually used a screwdriver as a screwdriver though? I know I sure don't :lol_hitti Craftsman hard handles are absolutely amazing for beating with a hammer and all kinds of other destructive uses!

Those are obviously Pratt-Read. The nut driver handles are a dead giveaway. The price point seems pretty "meh" to me, though. They can be had a heck of a lot cheaper with different color handles.

I would've loved to have seen the same company manufacturing the new Proto Duratek / Mac screwdrivers get with Channellock and toss out some screwdrivers together! Imagine those durateks with Channellock blue?

I applaud their efforts on sourcing their screwdrivers here in the U.S., but just can't get behind acetate-handled drivers. I have never liked them and have never had much luck with them in terms of grip, etc.

I agree with both points made above /\

I love that Channellock is dropping their ****** Chinese drivers and replacing them with better quality, made in the US, drivers but I hate those handles and wish they'd gone with a more ergonomic design. Like something actually designed within this Century!

Channellock blue Duratek's would have been the bomb! :rocker:

If you actually use your screwdrivers it is hard to beat a comfort grip. Hard handles are cool for nostalgia but functionally they **** ***.

I use screwdrivers all day everyday and I wouldn't give up my soft finish wiha or snap on instinct soft for anything.

I bought the 10-pc set - five each slotted and Phillips - and three of the Phillips have crooked shafts. Maybe bent, maybe just not set into the handle straight, it's hard to tell.

I'm cheesed off about it beyond reason, because I went out of my way to order these instead of just buying Kobalt or something, and now I have to wait for replacements that might not be any better. Someone at whatever factory makes these doesn't care if his job goes to China, apparently. "Made in USA," hmph.

The seller is sending me an entire replacement set, and a USPS return label to send the original set back to them.

I suggested just pulling the three drivers that need replacement out of the new set and exchanging those by mail, to save them some shipping. She retorted "we only sell these as a SET" as if I were the one who was not getting it. Fine, do it your way, I'm not going to argue about it.

But. But but but. This experience has kind of soured me on the product. I'm considering just not opening the replacement set and selling it on eBay instead. eBay collects a pound of flesh from each sale, so obviously if I could sell them outside of eBay that'd be better. Is that something you'd be interested in? PM if so.
