I browsed the chapman site and they seem to have a very limited amount of products, basically just what's shown in the original post. If they only make one thing it must be pretty good. Lifetime guarantee also

Each to their own, I guess. I've never heard of one of almost 500 mechanics breaking one, so I don't consider it much of an issue.

No, I'm smart enough to use proper tools. It's a fine instrument. If you need a cheater pipe, buy the proper sockets and a breaker bar. Used anywhere remotely correctly, it will never fail. *shrug*

love the chappys. I've had a set for 15+ years. Really useful how each bit can be spun by hand byt the little spinner top. Only complaint is that the ratchet is a chunky 20 toother. Non-reversing isn't an issue since it's so easy to pop the bits out and flip them.

a BREAKER BAR WILL NOT FIT so buying one would do what ???????


so I'm using the right tool the chaps does not hold up like the other one does.
used both tools and the W.F.M.C. is just a better made tool. even with a pipe attached .........


plus the W.F.M.C is a spline drive 12 deg. ratchet v.s. the chaps is a 18 deg ratchet

Have you seen the one Craftsman sells which looks very similar--the mini ratchet that is? The Craftsman mini ratchet was a hollow stamped design which was fairly delicate and fragile. I wonder if it's a similar design to the Chapman?

we last time we ordered we bought extra bits and other stuff i just know the bill was around $85.00


and yes the ratchet will do 400+ inch pounds

FYI if anyone does get one the ratchet will be really stiff till you break it in

After 20+ years gunsmithing and other serious workouts, the Chapmans are still AAA+++, never a problem.

It'd be nice if it were cheap enough to get good quality blow-moulded cases custom-made to your specs. I can think of several "tool groupings" I could use those for.

These are good sets but I'm working on my 3rd set. I wear out the splines to fast. Looking for an alternative non spline.

The Chapman tools are VERY well made and reasonably priced. I have a complete set of screwdrivers, torx and allens. Another option for hollow ground screwdrivers is the Brownell's Magan Tips. These are both magnetic and there are more sizes than the Chapmans so for very fine detailed work you are more likely to get a perfect fit with the Brownells set which is also made in USA.

Had to find 'em

Gonna be bizzy tomorrow, thought I'd show for comparison.
The only reason I said "Chapmaneze" is because the numbers stamped on the bits, make NO sense to me.
Hell I like 'em both, each has a better use than the other.(situation wise)

Ive had the standard set for over 25 years. Nice to have in the box but not a tool thats used often.

My Chapman kits are usually for gun repair or hard to get at places. They grip the screws well so as not to mark them up. Highly recommended.......
