Chapman tools

My grandfather gave me a Chapman tools driver set. Little ratchet, a few bits, etc. It's fairly beat and I'd like to get another. My question is, are these durable? They're fairly local to me. The ratchet i got is broken, which is why I ask about the quality. The bits are awesome.

i wouldn't hesitate to replace mine. good people to deal with. any questions? pick up the phone and you will actually get a real person who knows something. do yourself a favor and pick up one of those limited edition red white and blue sets.

I have a master set from about 6-7 years ago, pretty nice quality, good warranty and good people to deal with. I also have the bicycle set on my bike, surprisingly handle, easy to store.

I might be as old as your grandfather. I am 68 years. I have always owned and used a Chapman set. I just went and looked at mine as a bit of nostalgia. These days though, for bit driving like that I use the magnetic stuff. I have a couple little magnetic ratchets with swivel heads, boxes of various bits and magnetic handle bit holders as well as an inch pound torque wrench. Works for me. I don't remember the application but a few years back I was looking for some odd size and I didn't have one or couldn't find one in the magnetic stuff and located one in the Chapman box. Anyway, I always thought highly of them...still do.

Love these, fit wise the bits are really good and the textured end makes them great to spin by hand when you don’t have space for anything else. Being locked in to using their ratchet is a minus- it works fine but other great modern options are now cheap and plentiful- but the quality of the bits outweighs that for me. I have sets I’ve put together for both home and work and use them a lot.

First used them on UH-1N Heuys when I was Aircrew, then out of a Jensen tool case on Hemodialysis machines as a civilian Biomed tech. Now use a Chapman set when working on my Harley. Was able to pick up various soft vinyl packs of bits over the years to add to the ones in the yellow plastic case. Sometimes find them at the bottom of tool lots...
