Life does find a way of sneaking up on you. Sorry to ask but i'm curious about your pup. Did she run away or was there a health problem.

Sure. Hannah had a cancer tumor in her right cheek and it got pretty big eventually. One morning she didn't want to eat so we had to take a difficult but necessary choiceImageUploadedByTapatalk1417712511.845104.jpg

Here is she with me at the vet

Re: Double Audi

Hi guys.

Happy New Years all. I haven't forgotten my build and I haven't forgotten you all :)

Got back home from Denmark last week - 2 weeks in the motherland with family and friends. Good times.

Yesterday I picked up my old man who's in town for some business meetings - lucky me he decided to come in early and leave a few days after his business so that he can help me finish up the garage.

We got a lot closer today and this week I will start caulking and hopefully be able to start painting.

Haven't really decided on a color yet - maybe a light grey?

White, off-white, light gray, all make a great base colour. Can't go wrong.

Thanks! Going to HD tonight and shop for paint etc.. plan is to start painting this weekend.

Also just ordered two tall Gladiator storage cabinets that will arrive next week.

All coming together now.

I second the light grey choice, really great having your pops help you out. Beautiful new addition to the family. And A+ for it being a rescue. We just got back from a little Vaca in St-Lucia and it was soo sad seeing all of the lonely animals (Dogs and Cats) on their own looking for food. A guy on our plane actually brought one home, after a trip to the vet for necessary shots of course.

Thanks brother.

Yeah I know - here in CA there are so many dogs that needs a new home. Lucy was found wondering around in the streets in Modesto and a girl stopped and picked her up while she was running through traffic. A luck she didnt get run over.

What a day. Up super early (my dad was still jet lagged) and I was antsy to get started so we picked up some coffee and went to Home Depot to get some electrical stuff for the new lights outside on the garage.

Re: Double Audi

A full day of sanding and painting in the garage. I got pretty far on the painting - I only need a few more spots and then that's it. If everything goes my way I think I might be "done" next weekend.

Oh and Sears just got these back on sale for $99 - scooped two 10mins ago. Score!

Kristian,
Very nice work thanks for sharing. Very sorry to hear about Hannah - she was a beauty.

Huge kudos to you and the wife for saving another dog. Somehow; I don't know how, but it seems rescued dogs KNOW they were saved and seem to be appreciatively and super loyal. I hope you have a lot of relaxing days with Lucy out in your completed garage with you.

Thank you very much for your kind words Dan.

Hannah meant a lot to us, especially to my wife. Hannah used to be my mother-in-laws dog and when she unfortunately passed 9months ago from pancrea cancer we decided to adopt Hannah - on that very same day mother-in-law slept in we got the biopsy results back from Hannah's liposarcoma. Also cancer. Very sad.

We knew that it was only a matter of time before we would get a new dog and we are know that it was to be a rescue.
Lucy is settling in really good and she is starting to feel at home for sure

Re: Double Audi

Well honestly it wasn't too hard - the only thing that took some time was finding the right tools and fixings etc. As I mentioned before my dad helped me out when he was in town for a week. He's pretty knowledgeable on DIY stuff but since we don't have the same voltage back home in Denmark. When we got all the stuff from Home Depot it was a piece of cake.

One thing that did steal some valuable time was drilling holes in the bricks. I dont have hammer drill so we just went with my new Milwaukee drill but that took waay to much time so i picked up a corded Ridgid hammer drill. After that it was like cutting in soft butter :)

Kristian, your house looks very charming and the addition of lights adds to the overall appeal. Nice upgrade! Best of luck as you continue with the work inside.

Those lights look as though they should have been there all along. Nice touch!

Thanks dude. I think our house was the only house without garage lights. haha

Congrats on the house and the garage progress looks great. I'm glad to have another VAG enthusiast on the board.

Right on. Thanks man. Im actually in the market for a 1967-1970 911 or 912. I'll make sure to share the progress.

Dubber - keep your fingers crossed for a Golf R wagon:) I hear Canada is getting a 2.0T FSI powered (FWD) wagon soon.

Seeing that Avant has made me have thoughts of Audi though...love the wheels and the utility.

Its really taking shape. Are you parking a car in there normally or just when necessary?

The weather is never really that bad here in NorCal that its necessary to park inside the garage :p when we are travelling or working on one of the cars I make room to park inside.

Re: Double Audi

Not much work done in the garage lately besides fixing my bumper which I almost tore off two weeks ago by parking over a concrete block. Someone recommended me trying with JD weld and so far it's holding up. I wanted to try and avoid buying a new bumper so this option worked out pretty good.
It it doesn't hold up I will try with mini quick latches.
