Bondo makes a ureathane repair kit that works excellent. If i remember i will snap a picture of the stuff when i get home and post. I have been using it for years as i am in the auto industry. It is very reasonable priced, can be sanded ans holds paint well.
I love your Avant! I was about to dump some cash on new suspension and other things for mine until we had to buy a house, so that project is on hold. Now I get to spend money on house things instead. The backyard looks good too. I don't mind car and yard pics...I might even post some.![]()
Looks like it's coming together, how is that white floor to keep clean? I suppose keeping the car off it helps but curious all the same.
So for the car - still running strong and the new suspension and sway bar is absolutely a great investment.
The other day, while accelerating, I pulled a CEL code and it turned out to be a boost leak - looked into the possible options and quickly figured out that the culprit had to be a bad diverter valve. Ordered a new upgraded version for $60 and installed it (biggest PITA ever!!) and it sure enough cleared the code.
The old diverter valve had a small crack in it![]()
While changing the DV we also noticed a misfire so picked up new spark plugs (they were just about to be due anyways) and checked the coilpacks and that seemed to solve the misfiring and the car was again back to normal.
Upcoming projects: Change valve cover gasket, install a new Turbo inlet pipe, possibly adjust the ride height a bit.
good to know, im always curious about different floor treatments and the effort that honestly goes into keeping it looking nice. I haven't any hands on time with race deck so I'm sure even holding it would answer quite a few of my answers.
need a good shot of the low black car on that all white floor![]()
Common issues that are great excuses for updates. I did several of the things you mentioned (and way more lol). Check out a Silicon TIP when you search. Forge has a great one.
I think another thing that's common with those engine is the build up of **** in the manifold. I've heard of many people that get a walnut blasting. Works amazing apparently.
I ordered the silicone TIP from 034 Motorsports - they are in new neighborhood and make some great products. I'm sure you have heard of them. My buddy actually recommended me the Forge

Ive been reading up on the walnut blasting lately and absolutely something I will do sometime this summer.
Btw, are you familiar with aftermarket skids plates? Panzer plate from Dieselgeek?
That third from last picture looks like the tires would rub if he hit a bump??
