It seems I have several cordless tools
now, so I'm wondering how others have
their charging areas set up. Pictures please.

Just be aware that chargers and/or batteries can cause a fire.

Although it is convenient, there is no way that I would leave batteries on charge unattended or leave the charger plugged in and unattended.

I've been near instances where it has happened.

i know a lot of people who put them on 30 min timers. That way you don't overcharge and cause a possible fire.

A friend of mine had his shop burn to the ground from a faulty battery charger. He left it plugged in and it caught fire and slowly burned overnight until it spread ro more flammable materials then it went out of control . Be careful with your chargers and unplug them when not in use and don't leave them plugged in overnight.

Good to know, I usually leave them plugged
in all the time. I was thinking once they are
charged they turn off or stop charging...

Just a place to organize my chargers. All cords from chargers go down underneath to a power strip whos cord comes out the back. I don't leave it plugged in for reasons stated above. Only to charge batteries and then unplug when done.

My chargers are plugged into individual switches, had to do that because when they're charging they interfere with my radio. Which isn't an issue now because I use my MP3 player and not the radio. But, I left the switches so I wouldn't have to leave the chargers powered all the time.

The newer and or better brand ones do. I never had a problem with em being plugged in 24/7 but all my chargers stop once the battery is charged and if there is a fault it stops and a fault light flashes. I know all my battery packs have thermal shut offs in em as well.

If you have Millwakee cordless tools look in getting the 6- pack charger that duels as a caddy. At work we have one for our truck's cordless tools, awesome to have.

I plug a multi strip into an older light timer and then remove the "on" tab. My chargers plug into the multi strip.

I then just turn the timer on manually and spin the dial for how long I want the chargers to run. I run it for 30 minutes to an hour for my cordless tools and up to several hours if I'm charging the 12V battery to my boys Power Wheels Dune Racer.

As far as I know you can't do this with new light timers as there is always an on cycle. When I'm using my tools a lot I put the on tab back in so they run for a bit every day.

Been doing this for decades dating back to some of the earlier chargers that were rumored to be a fire hazard.

Mine is some plywood screwed into the wall with the chargers mounted to them. Like said, I keep mine unplugged when not in use just in case.

Years ago, I made the decision to go with the De Walt 18 volt system. Most all of my cordless tools use that battery. In the shop, using the job site radio usually keeps me going, otherwise i plug a charger in next to the kitchen sink. My wife hates that, and as soon as the battery is charged, she threatens me if i dont remove it. lol

I have had a pair of 18v DeWalt chargers plugged in with batteries, 24/7/365, for about the last 15 years.

Hang on, I'll go check and see if my garage burned down.
