Hello,

Long time user of this site, first used it about 8 years ago when doing my project in CT and was a great resource so I'm back asking for help on the new garage but now in Charlotte, NC. I went with RaceDeck last time but looking to do a floor coating this time around thus need someone in Charlotte, NC area that could do it, new to the area. Any recommendations from users or sponsors is much appreciated. Thanks

Contact Top Notch Garage. topnotchgaragenc.com

They do very nice work.

Thanks, just sent them a message but after looking around it seems that the guy used to work in Charlotte but is now up in the Wilmington area (200 miles away). Any other recommendation?

I'm in Charlotte area also and was planning on doing it myself but if anybody has a solid recommendation for an installer in this area I would definitely consider it.

Hey, I took an Elite Crete installer course and am in Charlotte. I've only done one floor so far, but have researched it to death and pretty sure I could do better than 1/2 of the "professional" installers out there. I want to improve my skills, so I'd be more than willing to help someone with their floor for payment of some pizza or beer. Shoot me a message if interested.

We also just relocated from CT we are North of Charlotte in Lake Norman area. I had someone at the house yesterday to quote Epoxy finish looks like it is more then Racedeck. Did you not like the RaceDeck on the previous garage ? The price i got was 4.40 sf includes ethcing, primer coat epoxy coat flakes and top sealer coat.

I'm still looking too. Sounds like the installer you talked to doesn't grind, just acid etches. Also wondered when installers say they acid etch one day and apply primer the next, do they not need to let the floor dry for longer than that? IDK, just curious.

You can apply a water based primer to concrete right after you rinse it. Just can't have any water puddling. I think it's silly to acid etch because you have to really work it to get off any oil stains, it's not guaranteed to be effective on all concrete types, some types can be corrosive and there is always the risk of getting it on your skin, eyes and you will breathe some of it. Shot blasting is quick and will give you a super solid base to work with. Plus can be done nearly dust free.

Shoot me a message if you want help. I did so much research on this stuff I know more than most installers.
