I cleaned up this vice and decided to paint it with Packard Grey Engine Enamel. The color is great, and it should hold up. Still need to do the letters black, but thought this was good progress to share.

nice vise, the 974 is a perfect size vise for the bench also should fit all your needs, but if you stay on GJ on the Vise Thread you will buy a bigger one and more of them, they will start growing on your benches and shelfs, sooner or later you will just start putting them on the floor and lose count on how many you have...lol.

Welcome aboard the runaway vise crazy train. Enjoy the ride.
Great restoration. IMO: Parkers are among the best. My daily driver is a 205 that I restored 7 years ago.
