Cheap and portable welding bench

Being that I am cheap made this little welding bench for small jobs out of an old gas grill

Hey that's a great idea - well done.

Many years ago I made my welding table from a plate of steel and 4 pieces of galvanized pipe for legs. I stripped the sheet metal from a dead washing machine and used 3 sides of it to enclose the table to contain the sparks. Not pretty, but it still works great.

I plan on harvesting sheet metal from my old grill to build a guard around my weld table to contain sparks. Nice looking table.

Nice repurposing

One thing I'd change is move the helmet and wire storage under the overhanging ends so they're protected from splatter.

I just wish the helmets would be put back on it like they are to be.
But you are right about splatter and I wasn't thinking about it till you pointed it out
