Cheap and quick?

I apologize in advance if this has been answered, I looked around for a few days, but I am overwhelmed with options.

In 6-8 months, we'll be moving into a new house in Fort Collins. Garage floors will be new, unsealed concrete,and will be a few months old once we get the house. I'd like to make the new garage easier to clean and avoid concrete dust, so I want something on the floor. But, I won't have a lot of time to do it (maximum 3-4 days from start to being able to drive over it), and I have some budget concerns. We'll have around 800 sq ft.

So far, I've considered:

1. Costco tiles at $2.08 per sq ft, which is top end of what I can spend
2. TrueLock HD Extreme at $1.99 per sq ft if I pick up in Grand Junction, and I will be there this summer
3. GhostShield 8510 or similar - $500-600 plus prep and install materials (I think that's the approximate cost)
4. Cheap options from Home Depot or Lowe's, like Behr Wet Look sealer, I am guessing around $500 total.

I don't have time to wash and sweep and dry and moisture test and etch and scour and roll and dry and roll again and clear coat. I don't have time for ceramic tile install.

I am primarily concerned about cost, durability and ease/lenght of installation (aren't we all?). Based on my needs, what is the best option for me? I love the look of the tiles, but they are approximately 4x more expensive than what I originally imagined this project to cost.

Though I don’t know your circumstances I do know that someone overly concerned with this cost might want to rethink buying a new house. Yes I kind of sound like I’m being a di$k, but really?

This reminds me of an old programmer saying.

Whenever you had to scope out a project, you'd tell the project sponsor:

• You can have it cheap
• You can have it good
• You can have it fast

BUT you can't have all three.

So, cheap and quick means that it probably won't be good.

IMHO, if it were me, I'd probably go with the Ghost Shield. It's a lot cheaper than the tile alternatives, and probably a lot more durable than the box store's products.

Well yeah, really. We bought a house and we need to do landscaping, some furniture, a fridge, dog kennel, multiple small things that add up, and at the end of the day, this is just a garage floor that functions just fine as is. Can I buy the most expensive product of the market? Sure. Will I? No, I won’t, because I don’t need it.

I know I know, magic triangle - you always get 2. I don’t have to have the cheapest option, I don’t have to have the best option, I do need to have a quick option. Ghost shield sounds fine and should install fairly easily. Thank you!

The CostCo tiles appear to be made in the USA and a full 1/2" thick. Not a bad value or price

We have some amazing local specials for those who are able to pick certain products up at our warehouse. That is where the 1.99 comes from

8510: 800 Sq. Ft. 1 LS4500. 3-8510. Flood coat at 300 SF per gallon is under $400 before your GJ discount (GJ7 Promo code)

Big box stores.... Be careful. Skip the cheap stuff and PREP no matter what. Ignore the advertising, pull up the spec sheet. Make sure you prime, coat and clear coat. You would be better off with a couple coats of our Primer or Scotty's primer than the cheap box store stuff

Damn that’s a good looking garage! Wife won’t let me two tone it and she said no to red, but it looks awesome like that.
