Have a couple of Gladiator Garageworks benches now. Wanted another but wasn't ready to drop another $500 on an 8 foot bench. So threw together a cheap Faux butcher block bench 8'x26". It matches fairly close.

Materials
Qty 4 - 2"x6"x10' pieces of lumbar
Qty 1 - Piece of sanded 3/4" pine plywood
Qty 1 - Quart of Natural Stain
Qty 1 - Quart of Polycrylic
Qty 1 - ScotchBlue 1.88" tape
Qty 4 - Metal u brackets for legs
Qty 1 - Box of concrete anchors
Qty 1 - Dark Grey paint
Qty 1 - Tube of industrial adhesive

First I built the bench frame 26"x8' put cross pieces in every 16". Attached the frame to the walls with screws in the far corner. Then leveled it perfectly and figured out my front leg height. Put a u bracket on the bench and one anchored to the concrete. Did the same with the middle leg (this bench is going to hold my drill press and X2 mill. Then painted all of that with the grey paint.

Next up I cut the plywood for the top. Placed tape in rows all across it then peeled off alternating rows. Stained the exposed rows with one coat of the natural stain (if done again I'd go with one step darker stain or a couple more coats to darken it up some). Then pulled the rest of the tape off and coated it all with Poly.

Put the top down with adhesive and a small backing board for the wall with adhesive as well.

Bench is awesome, doesn't wiggle or move even a hair, looks like I wanted and is perfectly level! The legs are level as well but the picture makes them look off. The best part is there's less than $100 into it. Leaving more money for
