I wish I wanted to buy either kitchen cabinets or the nice stainless one's but, I don't. $100- $500 is just too much for each. Isn't there cheaper out there ?

A friend has vinyl covered cabinets in his kitchen and I told him to up grade so I could buy his but, he said no. lol
These are the type I want and would paint them.

Funfer look on your local craigslist for old metal kitchen cabinets and go as far as placing a wanted add for them . Thats what I did and I ended up with more than enough cabinets to do my garage for FREE. The only investment I have in them is the time and materials to prep and paint them and I still have cabinets I havent gotten around to painting 2 years later. The second to the last post in this link shows alot of my cabinets afer repainting and hanging some tin sighns on them :D. I got them through my wanted add on craigslist it took about 3 weeks to get a response but I got them FREE :D.

Hey Rick, that sounds like a plan. Your look great to me.
Is there any certain way or place for the ad on the site for cabinets ?

Thanks,
Kevin

Kevin I would put several adds up ( this is an afterthought for me ) . When I got mine I put an add down in the wanted area but if I had it to do over again I might put an add under household and under general also and maybe even materials . I have also heard its not a bad idea to check with local cabinet companies as they do actually remove these from time to time and generally toss them in the dumpster. One other option although not FREE is ebay . You can type ( metal kitchen cabinets ) into the search window and they will come up.

Check with your local kitchen remodelers. Usually they have to drag the old cabinets back to the shop, break them up, and throw them in their dumpster. They're usually pretty friendly about saving them for you - and thus saving them the hassle of breaking them up and paying dumpster fees for them.

A while back I posted about Sears clearancing the Ultimate series of cabinets. If I recall, they had a 24" wall mountable unit for $60. Only catch was that they're pick-up only at this point.
