Hey guys,
I recently picked up an cheap tig/stick/plaz machine from fleabay. I've been really pleased with it so far, after working through "cheap Chinese" features like straight pipe fittings instead of taper... The only thing left that REALLY bugs me is the sleeve they put on the hose/cable bundles for the tig torch and plaz torch. They are chincy, plastic sleeves that are very stiff and when cold, won't flex at all. I'm hoping to come up a few cheap/free alternatives, as I can't pony up a pile of cash for fancy leather ones from the LWS. All i can come up with is bike innertubes, but the formed shape will cause it to curl up.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

You can purchase or even make one out of nylon and a sewing machine.

I made a jig to spiral cut rubber hose for DIY cable wrap, but it works better on the mig gun than the tig due to the added weight on the end of the torch.

I use 1" webbing for climbing from REI. They sell it by the foot and is basically a nylon tube, super flexible and mostly abrasion resistant.
