I've bought some similar Performax bags from Menards for rather cheap. These types of bags go on sale fairly cheap from time to time. You have to watch sales ads and stock up when they do go on sale.
With just a few tools, having it completely unorganised like that may well be the way to go.
I have the opposite, a Wiha pouch with cross grid elastic straps. Pros and cons. I'm happy with it but I appreciate the benefits other approaches may have.
I've used a leather shaving bag for years for various carry duties. They're durable, relatively inexpensive, and widely available. Not as cheap as they used to be, but I've seen decent ones in the 30$-40$ range. Tough and spacious enough for a good variety of tools.
I have a mesh “trash” bag a tad bigger than that is round/cylindrical and I use it in one of the vehicles. It was free with something I bought 5 or 10 years ago. Very handy.
