I just visited my local Ocean State Job Lot, and found some cash boxes. They are roughly 8"x11" and about 2" deep. I was just looking for some metal parts drawers for a future parts cabinet, and these fit the bill perfectly! They were $6 each and I bought the last three. I'm going to check Marden's (discount warehouse) tonight for more.

-Lockable
-Metal
-Powder Coated
-Include Plastic change trays.

P.S. Anyone have any idea how to replace the lock cylinders with a knob or latch of some kind? I don't want to have to keep track of the keys. I've got the cylinder out, I just need to find an appropriate peice of hardware.

You could take out the lock, open it up and remove the pins, which would allow it to rotate with a screwdriver or such. Or, you could "silver solder" on your own thumbscrew lever. I say SS as that cylinder is likely brass.

Nice trays BTW, was looking at a cash register behind an arena here, that had a similar cash drawer. But, you needed power to get it open. Was on my bike so had to leave it there for someone else.

those are kinda cool. I would use some threaded rod and a couple of thin nuts, one on each side of the hole, then use and acorn nut or something similar for a knob.

Nm, I guess that RV(motorhome) compartments use the same 5/8 cam latches. I'm going to the local RV place tomorrow to pick up a few. Thanks for the ideas!
