Hello, I am looking for cheap options to cool my garage. It is fully insulated with 2x6 studs. I am going to run a outdoor wood furnace for heat, but am looking for cheaper options for cooling. I was thinking a window unit, but think the electrical cost will eat me up. Has anyone used a stand alone a-coil and blower unit? Thanks

Mark, where are you? How hot does it get? How cool do you want to get it?
Lots of threads on here addressing the same question, have you scanned those?

The short answer is a window unit can work well and doesn't cost that much to run. If you could afford a garage that big, you likely can afford the electricity to run an A/C. I cool my 900 sq-ft sorta-insulated garage with a 6000 BTU garage sale window unit. My electric bill is never over $100 including running the three window units cooling the main floor of my house.
