Cheap Pen Light

I saw these Hyper Tough pen lights at my local Walmart for $1.44 in the automotive department. I'll be getting several more. Obviously, they're not the super fancy titanium, 12 mode flashlights people like taking pictures of to show their every day carry nonsense. However, they're definitely worth getting.

2 batteries, one button-on and off. Small, bright, works, cheap. Sold

What happened to on and off? Who uses strobe or colored lights? I remember Using a red lens when trying to catch a snapping turtle but aside from that I have never used a colored lens and I always use my shop lights on high

I guess bright is relative and I would have no expectation of longevity for a buck.

I'm very happy with my streamlight stylus pros. One stays in the car, one in my laptop bag. Maybe $30ish,but far from disposable.

Amazon constantly has the Stylus Pro for around $16 or so, maybe only one of the colors at a time. I agree it’s a great little light. I have two.

I think I have a HD version of that same light, bought in a set of 3 at their Black Friday sale a few years ago for a few bucks. I love them for times when I don't need super bright light, like looking in the dog's ears, or inside a sewing machine. Nice size for holding in your mouth too. Mine seem to eat batteries tho.

My favorite pen light, and part of my Estate Sale kit, is a rechargeable from Anker, but not cheap or disposable.

Yep, you are right, 16.02 for mine. I guess the old adage is true, "the cost of a good tool is quickly forgotten"

Id be curious to see how the ones in the OP hold up....

I used to go through pen lights faster than I changed underwear. I was convinced there just wasn't a decent one out there. Finally spent the money on a couple Streamlights and Im still amazed they are working a year later. Id go through lesser ones in a month easy. Id hate to know how many dollars worth of cheaper lights I've thrown in the trash, trees, burn pit etc out of pure frustration.

We use red lights on the boat at night so you don't ruin you night vision .
