Cheap as far as today's cost, but $1.00 back then is equivalent to about $14.50 in 2018. Don't know if a lot of people would give up 2 packs of smokes in a week to buy a speeder tee handle or even a pack to buy a 1" socket. Sure there was probably an equivalent of Harbor Freight back then too, just was in Perth Amboy, New Jersey not China.
