Cheap source for corrugated panels

I've finally sorted what I want to do for the ceiling in my little garage. Couple different constraints mean I'm hanging some kind of panel. I was thinking soffit panels but that is mighty expensive. I've settled on corrugated (roofing) sheets. I can grab them from home depot or such at $50 a sheet, will be about $300 for the lot. Before I get to buying, is there a better place I should be looking? Maybe strike a deal with a roofing company?

Corrugated? As in galvanized corrugated? How much is that per sq ft? I know a metal siding business that will sell interior sheets for something like 1 or 1.24 a sq ft. Not very thick. I think Menards can order some cheap that can span a good amount too.

11x21 space. But yeah, the painted roof type stuff. Doesn't have to be thick, light weight is good. I'll have to see if there's a Menard around.

check craigslist near you , might find someone replacing the old siding on a barn or machine shed . might get some cheap and then just paint them.

Craigslist all day long. Cheap. But rustic. Slap a coat of paint if you want fancy.

Are you looking for 1/2" or 7/8" corrugated? Color or galvalume? A metal building supply or lumber yard will probably be the best price and they can order it any length you want for no extra charge. Don't forget screws and trim.

There's metal panels on FB marketplace all the time, cheaper than a store if you don't need trim pieces.

More the newer metal roofing. I want it clean, but paint is easy enough. Craigslist is a great idea, I forget to check there anymore.

Metal building supply I'd have to find. Lumber yard though, that's an idea.

Look for a place that sells to the AG builders or market. They'll have what they call a "liner panel" that in my experience is actually rejected coil. Either being a few thousands thinner than advertised or have paint problems. Both irrelevant for interior use but sold at a bargain.

Contrary to popular opinion liner panel is the same material with a less robust paint finish. It is not recommended for exterior use. I have only seen it in white. Most coil producers make a similar product.

Sounds like you're talking about R-panel, in which case, what you're actually looking for is "Liner panel" (shown on the walls and ceiling below).

I purchased mine through a local metal supplier, as they were much cheaper than any of the box stores. That said, the incremental savings will not be all that great on 231 sq ft.

Perfect. I'll have to make some calls. I know it won't be terribly cheap, but it will hide the couple of pipes I have, reflect a ton of light and it'll look good enough to not think about again in my time owning the place. That picture has me thinking of using those lights instead of throwing a bunch of flush mounts in. Then again, I'm planning at least a decent sized shed in the future. That might well be the actual workshop and the garage just a pretty place to look at the motorcycles.

The lights shown above are these units. IIRC, I have 72 of them in service in three different buildings. All have between 4 and 5 years of use at this point, with 0 failures thus far.

When I purchased my liner panel for that shop in 2018, I paid $0.61 per sq/ft with screws, corners, and J-trim included. Prices have certainly increased since then.

If you only need a couple of hundred square feet, one of the big box stores would likely be your best bet.
For a larger project, talk to a local pole barn contractor and/ or full-service lumberyard and find out where they buy their metal.

Yep. $250 plus tax at Menards for an 11'x21' ceiling.
