Looking at tire machines and balancers. I have been looking at these and reading reviews and think the 988 and 680 (pick your brand, as they are all from same place) will work for me. Ebay, Walmart and Amazon have these for about $2600 - $2700. However there are a few companies that are selling these for significantly less ie. $800-$1100. This seems suspect but I don't want to throw money away if it is legit. So has anybody used either of these companies supposedly out of Arizona or another company that has these that cheap.

A good quality MANUAL tire changer (NOT Harbor Freight, unless you do upgrades), a GOOD mount/demount bar (NOMAR), some GOOD tire irons (Ken-Tools), and the PROPER LUBRICATION (Murphy's Tire Mounting Compound) plus the proper TECHNIQUE (lots of lube) and it is not difficult. Under $700 (?).

Not necessary, but very handy, BeadBuster XB-450

Didn't want to start another thread, but my Q is very similar.
I think I am ready to start doing tires myself. I am sick of tire shops, process, prices, and scheduling.
I found YT video where HF tire changed modified with https://lucidautowerks.com/products/ultimate-manual-tire-changer
This was my goal as it seems I can mount/dismount any wheels with no damage to rims. But you say there is better manual changers? Which one please let me know.

MAIN QUESTION is balancing. Same guy on YT which used this manual changer shows how he uses static balancer. I get it, but is it good enough? I can balance with weight, but on modern wide rims we can put weight on outside, or anywhere on a rim from inside to outside. I kind of feel that it would make a difference and static "bubble" balancer will not work for that. Am I rights?
What about "road force" balancers?

Many questions, no answers. I kind of ready to go with manual changing, but "balancing" part is what keeps me from making decision.
