Hello,

I ran across a welding helmet for $6.99, plus $5.40 in shipping. It is listed on Amazon, so you know that you can get a refund if it's junk.

There are 2 listings. One for $6.99, and one for $39.

I do sell on Amazon but I am not selling this item. I also do not have an affiliation with either of these sellers or this product. I am just considering ordering a few at that price and thought someone else might want one.

Have a great day,
Steve

Pricing on Amazon is kind of weird sometimes..... I've ordered a set of brand new spark plug wires for $10, but the same ones (Denso) were being sold for $50+ by other sellers. I also ordered some Gabriel Max Control shocks for $9.** each, when they were normally around $50 each. Both times the exact item I ordered arrived in brand new condition.

Really nothing to lose. I'm sure Amazon will refund if it's bogus. So why not?

While you might get in on a good deal, Hyper Beast Shop /Just launched/No feedback yet is somebody that I would pass on doing my business with.

It's not the helmet that protects your eyes, it's the lens/glass, which is replaceable anyway isn't it? I could be wrong here, never welded in my life.

Anyway, he has 2 ratings, 0% positive.

As far as it being a scam, who would waste their time scamming someone for $11?

It's an auto-darkening lens. That's the costly part of an expensive hood. Without actually having one of these hoods, there's no real way to tell if another manufacturer's lens would work as a replacement. Not impossible, but a lot of effort instead of just buying a reliable unit to begin with. You can actually buy a good, reliable auto-darkening hood for about a hundred bucks. Can you spend $200-$300 on one? Sure. But you can also spend $75k on a new pickup truck, or one that does the exact same thing, just as safely as a new $30k truck.

Like most other bootleg products, they're cheap to make, and usually just unreliable junk. And... if you sell something to 100 people, and never ship them. You just made $1100. Not saying that's the case here at all, but some scams aren't for thousands of dollars.

Even the better ones aren't always worth it. I have a Lincoln that only darkens a couple times then flashes you. Seems like the batteries have failed but it doesn't open to allow you to change them. I ended up buying a more expensive Hobart because in this one you can change the batteries.
