I was getting tired of my sockets being all over the place so I decided to resolve that problem in the new garage. I looked at suppliers like Snapon and Matco but I really can’t justify that sort of money since I am just a normal guy and not a professional mechanic.

I went with Gearwrench for the impacts and Tekton for the sockets. I did splurge on Westling USA organizers but I thought it was worth putting money on the organizational side of my little project. I’m not quite done yet but I’m excited to finally have an organized set for not much money. Have a blessed day.

Your tool set looks as if you are ready to do some real work.
Are you up to it?

I’ll tell you what though. If I could start over again, the Capri socket sets actually come with the Westling organizers. Pretty slick deal.

My Sunex and Tekton have been pretty decent. What are you primary using for chrome sockets?

I would agree, that in most cases SnapOn is not worth spending a huge amount of money on for a DYI guy when it comes to sockets. I have a lot of GearWrench sockets and rachets and they are great quality for the money. If I had bought all SnapOn it would cost a fortune for all the sockets. I do have one set of SnapOn 3/8" sockets in metric. And I have several SnapOn ratchets.

That seems about right. I’ll splurge on the occasional higher priced ratchets and odd things. I got some t handle sets from Matco that I really like for dirt cheap on last Black Friday, but the bulk of my tools are either deals or less expensive brands where the quality is still there. I would imagine most people who don’t rely on these tools to pay bills are pretty much alike.

For me, I just wanted better organization. I lose everything if it’s not attached to me. I’m that guy.

The price difference is $35 for the Capri 3/8 metric set with/without the organizer, but it's $26 to buy the organizer. If you like the organizer just buy it separately and whatever sockets you want.

I wonder though if the Capri sets with the organizer come with all the correct sockets to fill them up. I spend cold cash having to order individual sockets I was missing in my sets, as the organizers are numbered. Something to consider.

I just got a text advising me that UPS is delivering the remainder of my tools today. And I am stuck at work until 6pm. Dang it!

Ok, all done. I did end up getting a set of ratchets as well. Pretty excited to start using these.
