May not be the best lift out there but i have used three different ones of this model and they all have worked well. None of the three have had any problems, one is used commerically and the others are residential use. I could be wrong but I think that are manufactured by the same company as Rotary lifts. http://www.gregsmithequipment.com/Atlas-PV-10P
Dannmar has several to check out, I went with a MaxJax because of height issues, you can see it in the video link below
Danmar's look pretty nice, but I need something less than $2,000. Thanks for the sugesstion!

Might be worth the extra $500-$1000 to ensure your safety. Too risky to not go with a trusted brand when it comes to lifting stuff that heavy/expensive. However, if you can find a really nice, trusted car lift for under 2k then all power to you.I would highly recommend investing the extra money and jumping up to at least a Danmar, or Something like a Forward IDP9 or a Challenger E10. These are ALI/ETL lifts made by very reputable lift companies, and readily available for under $3000 shipped. Sometimes under $2500. Atlas lifts are assembled with grade 4.8 metric hardware and just arent worth the money savings if you depend on the lift imo.
If you're looking for a lift under 2000$, Dannmar has a new lift coming out that, I believe, is on presale at the moment for only 1399$. I saw it on www.gesusa.com home page. It's an ad that you can click-through to the lift. Only thing is it's not a two-post. Just thought if "cheap" is your main requirement then they don't come much cheaper than that.
Other than hardware what's bad on the atlas? Hardware can be upgraded.
This d9-2x is looking good with free shipping.

Well when they skimp on something as simple as bolt selection its very easy to imagine everything else they skimp on to save money. Like I said, I would highly recommend getting an ALI/ETL certified lift that way you know it meets industry standards. Danmars 10AC lifts are certified and the same price as the D9/Admiral 9000 lifts. And not sure what youll lift most often but asymmetricclifts like the 10s are easier to use with cars. And the Danmars actually have rotated columns on their asymmetric lifts which is nice
I bought an atlas 9k two post last June, use it daily, it has made me a lot of money and has held up well. Haven't needed any repairs yet, just works like it should. Have lifted 4 or 5 Chevy quad cab duallys and many large f250's (one customer has a 4dr long bed f350 I've lifted often) Arms are solid. No complainants here. It is the model with the 12ft solid side posts.
Changed my options, looking hard at this

Any opinions on these direct lifts? has a 5 year structural and 1 year hydralic warranty
Also looking at the bendpak 10k lifts with 1/2 cables and 5 year structural and 2 year hydralic warranty. That's 700 more dollars though

See my above post. Nice lift, same as atlas.![]()
I recently purchased a 9K "Eagle" brand lift and am very pleased with it. I looked at most lifts around and most that are advertised in the 7K-9K range are all the same offshore imports including the Direct Lift OH8000. I chose the 9K model as my vehicles max out around 7000#'s with the biggest being a 1/2 ton pickup. I will never own anything bigger than that I simply do not have the need for a bigger truck. I looked at the "lift failure" video and all that did was confirm that if you use it at its rated capacity its fine. I think you need to size the lift for what you plan on doing with it and the vehicles you may have in the future. I would not buy the 9K lift if you have a 1 ton dually or any other big truck to service. If you have any questions about the construction of the lift let me know.
If the ALMs are in your price range Id go with them. They are certified, made in the USA and actually make lifts for the Government. I wasnt aware that they were still available in the light duty sizes though, if they are I wouldnt hesitate to grab one up. ALM is part of StertilKoni group and there current lift are sweet. Ive used on of their 16k models before, really nice piece, electromagnetic locks, high mounted power unit and other neat stuff.
