I have a 12X20 detached garage. I am in the process of converting it to a game room. the problem I have is the floor is pitted and it has a crack that goes the width of the floor about 3/4 of the way into the garage.

The floor is fairly level except the crack. to the back left corner of the garage it has a pitch to it maybe about 1/4 inch at most.

I want to have a level floor and the pits filled.

what would be the most economoical (cheapest)way to finish this floor as well as easy to do.

Is the garage going to see duty as a parking garage also? If not I have a suggestion for you.
This is what I did in my machine shop. I put down a grid work of 1x3's, on
16" centers, over a layer of visqueen. I put styrofoam insulation in all of the squares and covered that with 3/4" T&G OSB. I painted mine but you could put any floor covering you want over yours. I did this because it is much easier for me to stand on a wood floor then the concrete and the floor is always warm too...

That sounds like a plan. What I will be using my garage for is a place where I can host poker games and get togethers. I am using this unused space due to lack of room in my house. So The floor deosn;t need to be hevay duty just level.

Thanks...

I anyone else has any ideas keep em coming!

I did the "social area" of my garage in peel-and-stick 12" tiles from Menards. They're about 64 cents each and really easy to put down. They sell epoxy crack and hole filler for about $18 per kit which might help you to smooth things out before applying the tile. I'm pretty happy with mine, I even park my Harley on them with a pad under the kickstand and cold tires.
