Cheapie keyless remote question

So this one is a bit of an oddball. Was looking on ebay for a cheap keyless entry setup for my truck. I see that they are darn cheap.. ~$15 for receiver and two remotes.

So I got to thinking that'd it be great to be able to open my garage door with the same cheapie remote, just get another receiver that I could wire into the garage door wiring. Then I'd like to take it a step further and install an electric door strike and another cheapie receiver on the garage man door.

I think I can figure out the wiring/activation of the receivers to whatever I want to control. What I'm wondering is, am I able to match up a single remote to all three receivers? Can I use the 'trunk' and 'panic' buttons on the cheapie remote to open the garage door and man door?

The short answer is yes, one device could open multiple doors. No need for three receivers, most have two door lock outputs (driver, and all doors) and a trunk or aux contact too. You just have to find one with the three outputs if you want to control three things.

But three receivers matched to a single fob won't (IMHO) help you much.

Good point, though I will still need two receivers (one in my truck and another in the garage which can handle both garage door and man door).

So it is possible to program a single fob to two receivers (even with cheapie stuff on ebay, ha).

You can also get keychain garage door remotes. Mine was about $20 and does 3 doors.

Yes, but I'm not sure you want to use the same fob for both purposes (but that's your choice!) Generally the receivers won't know about each other anyway.

I bought this to play around with and it has been fun wiring it up to various things and turning them on and off. I wired it up to the horn in my buddies truck and had hours of fun tormenting him with it.

my roadmaster wagon has a viper 550esp alarm remote start installed.
the remote also runs a 519H that opens my garage door.
i am getting ready to install a device to the garage unit that will let me also turn my lights on in the garage.
i am also adding a 556T to the garage door system to attempt to close an accidentally open garage door throught the night (not its original intended use) in case i forget.

my reccomendation to you would be look into a DEI 519H2 and get the compatible keyless entry with 2way remotes for it.
it has a 2way remote capability that shows an open garage door on the remote.

i have attached a pic of what my current keychain remote configuration does.
i have changed one thing on it but im getting ready to change a few more to my liking. but it will give you an idea of what you can do.
