The concrete in my garage is trashed, like has been soaked in oil more times than I can count. I also have so much stuff in here that it would be a pain in the **** to move everything around. Big workbenches, piles of engine blocks, full size vertical mill, etc. Plus my two cars. I don't want to put too much money into it since I beat the **** out of the floor. I don't mind patching or repairing it occasionally. Any ideas for a good cheap way to clean it up a bit? The shop is about 40x26.

The 3rd bay in my G is really bad (I applied a latex F floor paint on the other 2). You name it, its been stained and/or corroded by it (prev owner reconditioned small equipment and trolling mtr batts). I've tried everything to make it look better, with very little or no luck. The only thing that does any good is dry sanding it with 80 G wet sanding paper. And those results don't last all that long.

Don't bother. If the concrete it that oily nothing will cover it and stick. Remove and replace and don't let it get covered in oil. Why has is been "soaked" in oil so much?

Racedeck freeflow floor :dunno:

Would cover oil stained floor and don’t have to worry about any coating adhesive issues. Also whenever you damage a area/section of floor it will be easy to replace just that area.

Maybe look at the rollout garage floor mats advertised here on the journal. Probably the least expensive option you will find for concrete that has been trashed.

I build cars so I get it pretty nasty. I also ran a Jeep sales/salvage business out of it for a few years so I was constantly getting oil on it. I spent a lot of money on oil-dri over the years. LOL

I don't see the oil stained floor being an issue. I epoxy coated my garage floor after years of working on cars and engine work. The floor had oil spots all over. I cleaned it well with mineral spirits, (paint thinner), scrubbed the heck out of it, then acid etched it, Then another couple wash downs with degreaser, then applied the epoxy. That was 25 years ago, and although the floor is way past needing a recoat I never had any issues with the epoxy sticking.
