Not about garage wiring, hope this post isn't out of line. Wiring power universal window in my truck and want limit switches to prevent strain on the motor. I came up with this schematic, anyone see a problem with it?

Circuit should be pretty simple. The limit switches (normally closed) are in series with the window up / down switch. The upper switch is in series with the up limit, lower switch in series with the down limit.

I'm not sure limit switches would be the best idea. Windows typically need to push up into the seal. I feel like limit switches would be very finicky to get that right.
I think they make circuit breakers for these applications that would be more appropriate.

Make sure the motor does not already have some type of limit built into it. The motors in my Tahoe have an internal overload sensor that opens when the current makes it heat up. Also like loco said I think they make external overloads that work on the current.

As BillK said, usually an automatic internal switch in the motor handled this on a factory setup, opening on amp rise and resetting after use. I’m not sure what aftermarket does. Maybe ask the manufacturer of the unit.
