The mechanic at my work retired and left all of his tools behind...obviously,i dug thru his boxes and took what i wanted..i got some good stuff ,but this p&c wrench was the oldest piece he had. ive never seen one like it and it has a wf part# ???? the funny thing is,the size markings are stamped on it,but the 1" marks(before the stamped size) look to be done by hand .. if youve ever seen one,give me some info

yeah im sure he left,he took a buyout and retired..i waited a good 6 months before even looking thru his boxes. havent seen the guy since he left so i dont feel bad for rooting thru "his" tools

Why not contact the old fart and try to buy all of it.
I just bought a SO roller cab with top and side from a guy who left his box at work for 4 years while he was off for a work related illness that he finally just got approved for compensation for. (he did body work) In his words "most of the tools were stolen even though it was tarped over". My guy sold the 3 pieces with some decent assorted odds n' ends for $300.00 so he was very reasonable to deal with.

o.k...ill try to elaborate the situation...
i work for sears repair service and this guy was the 1 mechanic who worked on our work vans..he had a huge 3 bay garage to himself and most of his tools were bought by sears. he was there since the early 70's so he had a lot of stuff...he left the company and retired,so i dont think he gave a **** about ever working on another car in his life... with that being said, they rolled his tool boxes into a storage room and forgot abought them.. i actually picked thru what i wanted and took one of the old black front craftsman chests too.... im the only guy in the place that cares about tools and i guess i look at them differently than others(you gotta know what i mean) my coworkers just use raised panel ratchets and crappy screwdrivers so they had no interest.....i didnt steal anything,i just showed some respect to good tools.........

You took stuff that wasn't yours,the circumstances don't matter.Just because they were sitting around in a back room doesn't give you the right to pick through them and take what you want.Did you have to pick the lock,too?

I'll never be acused of being the moral police but thats just outright theft. If you don't buy it and it isn't given to you and you took it out of his toolbox thats theft. It wouldn't have made any differance if it had been 5 years. He could be in the hospital on life support. Someone should contact his family to come get his stuff. You will pay for those tools one way or the other. I'd put them back before Karma sets you up for payback. I'm sure if he wanted you to have them he would have rolled them over and given them to you.

That is odd... Are they HIS tools or COMPANY tools? That's the $20 question. I worked with a guy that never came back to work after a long weekend. I contacted his family 4 months later and found out the tools and box he left were on loan from his grandfather. He was happy to have them back after his worthless grandson bailed out.

i started this post to find out if anyone had info on the wrench...
the tools were company property since they bought most of them(obviously not this particular wrench). if i didnt take them they would have ended up in the back of a scrappers pick up. my work just cleared out the shelving in the entire warehouse & gave them all to the scrappers who frequent my job. and YES, i took what i needed with no problems from management ...what would you do????? the guy who retired had no emotional attachment to the tools and he hated his job....for christs sake,he left everything and ran out the door,he didnt even take certain things that i know i would have took if i was leaving. he didnt just retire either,hes been gone over a year.......
