My Buddy came over on his dayoff to help me with the wiring of my lights for my new shop. He tells me on the phone he has extra steel conduit, im like fine ( I thought plastic pvc or wires tacked to the ceiling would have been fine , since he's doing it for free ( besides a few vices of choice ) He shows up, and 3-4 hours later , this is what i ended up with.....Any compliments go to Brandon!

Nice to see a buddy take pride and do it right. Very nice work.

I have seen other "buddy" jobs that look like hell!

Great looking job and lights. I also have Lithonia lights and have been VERY happy with them! I know some hate them, but not sure why mine work great. I have 17 units. 4 foot, 4 bulb, t8.

Pipe (conduit) is the only way to go in a shop.

Gonna ask, probably gonna get some heat, I think the work looks very nice and neat. But what was the reason for the four separate conduits to each light? The only advantage I can see would be that it would be easier to replace the fixtures but I've rarely replaced a fixture, a few for damage or rust but usually it's just a ballast or bulb holders that are replaced. I know it's not a lot of wire and conduit but a bit could be saved with the addition of a single box and a small piece of conduit between two of the fixtures (there's a knockout there). Not trying to put down the work or anything just curious as to why. Could be as simple as he didn't have a box (I've run into that, make do with what you have), easy fixture replacement, likes bending conduit, more than one circuit or that's just the way he chose to do it.

Here's how I would have done it:

Mickey if I had to guess it would be for expansion purposes. He may be planning to add additional fixtures somewhere near that middle junction box.

Hey Striker...You guessed it. We are running 2 more about 4 feet or so straight/directly off that junction box, then 2 more against the wall which we will junction off those 2 new ones.....And the double conduit instead of single? Uuuummmm, i guess it looks cool ( conduit is free ) kinda like dual exhaust..... Haha, good question though, and i understand your design... I dont know if you can see, but in Mickeys picture of my set-up, the fixture on the right hand side furthest away, the cable goes from the ceiling directly into that fixture....So, i have no conduit or wires on the walls, nice and hidden....Kinda magical.... That's a good friend. After viewing these pics, I noticed a similar install in an industrial setting. It's actually a really good look if concealed is not an option.

I'm not sure if it's acceptable or not but, I think I would paint the conduit white to match the ceiling.
