A little searching and I can see that this case held some sort of bulbs, fuses, wiring, etc...interesting...never heard of them before...

If the case is deep enough, I'd go with the highway flares above^.

But it's not. Puzzling... did Dietz manufacture anything other than kerosene appliances?

Spare headlight/bulb/fuse case. I have an anthes version in my old truck.
