Check out this door height

Doing a job today installing an outside light and figured you guys would get a kick out of this. I don't know how it was allowed but house was redone in last year or so. Homeowner said the garage was originally on other side of house and old owners moved it.

No didn't get any, but it's a ranch with a basement and if you are looking at the the house my ladder is on the right side

Allowed by who? I'm guessing the home owner gave the OK (or didn't find out until it was too late).

I would think there's a min height for a garage door, the owners now bought it like that. I'm thinking it was done without permits because I can't see the town letting it go by. Homeowner said he hits his head at least once a week

Why would you buy a house with a door that low? Just screams it wasn't done right.

Also curious...what was height to drywall ceiling? It appeared to only be a 1' or so above the door rails in your first picture.

I bet you shot those with an iPhone. Rotating them often doesn't work when posting.

Hell, those doors are tall enough for me, I am 5'8".

Prob about 7 foot, they had a beam that goes down the center that held up by the pillars you can see,if they used two smaller doors then they could've went higher. I just don't know if I could live with that, I stand up and my head pushes the door up lol.

Seen that many times on carport conversions. People just want the security and to keep the dust off their cars. Not much wrenching goes on in there.
