Doing a job today installing an outside light and figured you guys would get a kick out of this. I don't know how it was allowed but house was redone in last year or so. Homeowner said the garage was originally on other side of house and old owners moved it.

I would think there's a min height for a garage door, the owners now bought it like that. I'm thinking it was done without permits because I can't see the town letting it go by. Homeowner said he hits his head at least once a week

Why would you buy a house with a door that low? Just screams it wasn't done right.

Also curious...what was height to drywall ceiling? It appeared to only be a 1' or so above the door rails in your first picture.

Also curious...what was height to drywall ceiling? It appeared to only be a 1' or so above the door rails in your first picture.

Prob about 7 foot, they had a beam that goes down the center that held up by the pillars you can see,if they used two smaller doors then they could've went higher. I just don't know if I could live with that, I stand up and my head pushes the door up lol.
