Yer jekin my chain right? :headscrat

Nope. I honestly don't know why anyone would buy MAC tools over Snap On or Matco. Or Stanley, for that matter. The way MAC is going, there just isn't much reason to buy from them.

Their call in customer service is quite good though. I just wouldn't be disappointed if I never bought anymore MAC tools.

I really like the 3 year warranty! :bounce:

I wonder how hard the MAC guy would laugh if you gave him one of these for replacement.

Yea, someone should report this guy to eBay before someone gets suckered.

well they are mac tools.......imported but mac just the same. just the same as the s&s,jesse james, & foose sets and more and more of thier product line, seems like it just a stanley policy. for my money it'll be snap-on from now on out, i've traded off most of my mac and matco stuff.

Dear god, These really are MAC tools.

MAC has now sunk to a new low in my book.

They are now fully immersed in the "disposable tool business" - Can you say Thorsen?

Well, I suppose this perfect for those "short term" techs who buy tool sets and then quit the training program.

Just to be sure that the 3 year warranty is kept, maybe MAC should put a "best if used by" or "expires by" date on them. :lol_hitti

Well, they're probably not made by MAC, I can tell you that. They may be sold by MAC, much like Snap-on sells asian made Blue Point stuff, but I highly doubt they are on the same assembly line as the REAL MAC tools.

MAC made sure people would not be confused by using a different logo.

In essence, they have "sold out" (not literally) their name, but not the logo.

I think I'll keep on eye on the auction, they'd be just right for an emergency toolkit.

Hang on, I feel a slogan coming on...

-----
MAC Tools - Perfect for sticking into that ammo can in the trunk of your Galaxie 500 that doesn't start sometimes when you park it at the Safeway and your wife comes and picks you up. And why can't the old lady understand that sometimes a man needs to have a few drinks out with his buddies?

aaah...I should be an ad-man I think.

I concur.

This is similar to Craftsman stuff sold in Canada (the non USA made hard line) you can see it and feel it and know it isn't even close to the USA made quality.

I find this way of marketing decieving and insulting to guys who own the "real MAC" stuff.

"Racing" or "Professional" in the name almost always means lower grade, but aren't they suppose to have some flames?

I read everything since my last post so now I understand.:( I am glad I do not have much MAC stuff now! So sad, I had no clue how bad things had gotten with them, just another Stanley company now! :(

I don't get all this bad talk about Mac tools. What's so wrong with their wrenches?

I have some older MAC wrenches that are ok but I also have a couple of newer MAC knuckle saver series combination wrenches that are just uncomfortable to my hand. I have noticed that the shanks of some MAC wrenches are on the narrow side which is sometimes handy in tight quarters to get a little more rotation of the fastener before the wrench hits something that is in the way. On the newer ones I own the shanks are narrow and square like the old ones but the edges of the shank are not rounded as much so they feel almost sharp when you use them.

Stanley has owned MAC for a long time. A lot of the stuff sold on the truck has been rebranded Stanley forever.

Custom Pearl chrome...for that finely sandblasted appearance.

A "blend" of screwdrivers and pliers...what are they selling, coffee beans?

Ooohh... a Mini scraper. Perfect for defacing those little retro cars in the parking lot.

Hold the phone, I think I found a sneak peak at the 2009 Mac Racing Socket Set.
