Has anyone ever checked the output of their battery chargers? I have a couple that are rated at 200 to 300 amp output, and they seem to work, but on the highest jumpstart settings I see about 5 amps if I measure with an amp clamp on a multimeter. It does go lower on other settings. My Genus 3500 puts out a bit under 2 amps when measured. Voltage is 14 to 15. Does that seem right?

Do that same test but while having a fairly dead battery and crank an engine and you will see the amps shoot up. Battery chargers won’t put out high amps unless the connected load is drawing it
