Checking on a Combo D-Lux Air Compressor Automatic Drain Valve

I'm new in this forum, so hello everyone.

I want to automatically drain any moisture in my new IR air compressor. I've been searching the net on what products are out there to do this, and one that looks pretty good, and not too expensive is a JORC Combo D-Lux with an all in one digital timer and integrated ball valve and strainer. Based on the literature, you can set the drain time from 0.1 seconds to 99 hours, and the interval between drain cycles is also 0.1 seconds to 99 hours. Comes in all voltages for solenoid actuation. Looks pretty simple to install and use.

Now, my question is: has anyone ever used this product? And if so, what is your experience using it? Right now I have an extension from where the petcock was under the tank coming to a manual ball valve attached to long plastic tubing going outside for draining. Since I live in a more rural area, noise as far as draining is not a problem, but when the snow comes I don't want the hassle of having to manually drain the tank, hence looking for an automated solution.

So, if anyone can shed any light on this product, it would be greatly appreciated. All the necessary info on this product can be found at the website below:

Also, are ecompressedair.com and isccompressedair.com good vendors to deal with? Have had no dealings with either. Just looking for the proper guidance.

Thanks again,

Alan

How often does the compressor run? Mine is lucky to run one day a week. The toe operated ball valve is more than adequate for my purposes.

Snow, in this area, is something we have to travel to see.

There’s nothing particularly special about that drain valve. It is a common solenoid drain trap. They’re fine for what they are but be aware that they waste air and if you leave them plugged in then the solenoid will cycle and eventually empty the air out of the tank or lower the pressure and cause the compressor motor to run. You can get a similar valve from Mc Master-Carr or any number of vendors for a bit cheaper.
