Alternately, Costco has 36 count for $14 starting Wednesday, 05/18, through 06/12. I couldn't ID the size online. If I get a chance to go to store, I'll try to get towel size info from package. I also don't know how they compare to the Chemical Guys towels. Obviously, no silk border on these, but otherwise... (???)

And, the 4-pack of 12" x 12" towels at Harbor Freight are often on sale for $4.

Picked up a package of these the last time they were on Woot... big Made in China tag on each one now. They are getting tossed in the garage sale pile

It’s likely a big difference. I’ve used similar towels from Adam’s, and they’re MUCH better than the thin ones from Costco/BJ’s.

The Costco (Kirkland brand) are 16" x 16" (36 each). I got a bag of them a month or so ago for $17.99. So their pending discount price is a great deal. I would not characterize them as "thin." At least compared to the **** my wife has bought over the years.

Thanks Hotrod, I generally don't like towels with borders or Chemical guys products but at this price with a semi premium towel it is worth it. These are much nicer than the Costco towels.

I should have bought a couple more packs to give to my car buddies as gifts. They are such a great buy at $12 for 12!

The 4-pack at HF will be on sale for a measly $0.99 from 08/19-08/21 (earlier for ITC members).

Agreed, I loved getting those HF towels & used them as the rag to clean aluminum or other grimy things then toss them.

See post #7 because all microfiber is not the same, I would never think of using cheap HF microfiber on my cars finish……..

Nobody here has made the claim that all microfiber is the same. We all understand that there are varying quality levels between products available in the marketplace.

As for car finishes, on 3 of my 4 jalopies, a modest grit sandpaper would be just fine. Everyone has their own circumstances, needs, and expectations. 4/$1 HF microfiber towels fit fine into some of those cases. That's why I posted it.

Relax Francis!…….. I posted www.theragcompany.com as another "option" along with some "education" about microfiber.

BTW! Thanks to the OP for the original post and XXL for post #14
