That looks like something I would want to use. I've been debating all kinds of options for my garage floor, which has not yet been poured. epoxy is out. racedeck and whatnot are out. I am down to a concrete sealer, but I like what their website says about it. It sounds like a better product than a simple sealer.

I contacted them and they got right back to me already. It is $50 for 5 gallons of it, plus freight shipping due to weight. For me that amounts to approx $65 more. 5 gallons covers around 1000 sq ft. This is a seriously inexpensive solution.

Hmm, well they coated Yankee Stadium with it. Not sure if I want this product to be good or make the place crumble. LOL

When it comes to concrete sealers, Ashford Formula has the most impressive results of any product that I have seen.

Good luck with it.

I just spent a lot of time on Ashford's website ... pretty impressive ... I think I may have finally found the floor coating I've been looking for. Thanks!

good catch, Will. I checked the maintenance for chemtec one. They have a "weekly maintenance" section, but also state that "you can use any portion you wish that fits your specific needs". Meaning that you don't have to do their recommended weekly maintenance. I'll ask about it when I talk to them.

I just ordered 10 gallons of chemtec ONE. Very helpful on the phone. Even gave me his cellphone number in case I have a question while applying it. As to the "weekly maintenance" he said that is really for high traffic areas. My garage will not need that.

a caveat will all of these densifiers is that they are not a sealer. oil will still soak in if left. the concrete will still stain if left. but you can still seal it after the product is applied.

Good to know. What would be the sealer of choice, to put over this? ALso, did you ask if an epoxy finish can ever be put down over the ChemTech? Suppose you decide you want some color, instead of the natural concrete? Can it be done without grinding a quarter inch or more of concrete away?

Good luck on the project, and please post up some pics and details.

the porosity is greatly reduced, but it still exists. I believe that any sealer will work. But then again, all I know is based on a 10 minute conversation with them and reading their site. on their contact info, Jim Sist is their USA contact. He was quite helpful.

My garage is coming along veeeery slooowly. I called my builder today to establish a deadline. It's been almost 2 weeks with no work. He says he'll be here tomorrow to get set up to pour the floor. But with this product, you can't get it wet for 12 hours and the forecast is for showers until monday. good for concrete, bad for chemtec.

I'll post pics when I do it for sure.

I had some delays during construction, too. Weather, builder on pther jobs, etc. I feel your pain. We got through it though, and one the building was closed in, my builder had completed his job, and I took on the inside work; electrical, insulation, sheetrock, and yesterday and today, primer painting. Will tackle the finish coat on Friday. Lots of work, as there is more than 4000 s.f. of drywall. But it looks good; can't wait for it to be done.

So I'm closer than you for floor coating, but still haven't decided what to use. My floor is 36x48, so there a LOT more work ahead for me.

I'll look into the various sealers, and I'll email Chemtech with my questions, to see what they say.

Paul R....Where does your "Mason friend" get this product? Maybe a local company has it and you could save the shipping? Or a similar product locally?

He didn't say, but I this company is from your home state. I've got a slew of returned emails from companies the other day on products, not sure these folks got back to me or not. I could call, but I think I may go with another different DIY product. Paul

Well, all I know is my experience and Jim wrote back email on memorial day weekend and gave me his cell phone number. Looks like the builder got everything ready to pour tomorrow, so maybe monday I'll be applying chemtec.
