I've heard great things about Zep Cherry Bomb, but after searching for it every now and then for a while, I can only find it in 1 gallon+ sizes.

I'm happy to have found Gojo's Cherry Gel a month ago, and ordered a 10oz bottle to try out. After using it a bit, I'm even happier to report that I like it a LOT.

I strongly recommend it to anyone who, like me, detests the scent of orange cleaners.

I posted my full review of Gojo's cherry gel cleaner on TG if you want more details.

I've use the Zep Cherry bomb and its awesome, cuts through nasty thick oil and grease. I'm pretty sure I have a 1 gal. container, never seen it in smaller bottles. It smells like cherry candy.

And you can still get the 1 gallon jugs of Cherry ZEP on ebay for $9
Link? I only see gallons for $26 or so plus $10 shipping.

I searched quite a bit, mostly online, sometimes in a parts store if I'm already there.

Zep's website only lists Cherry Bomb in 2 sizes.

SKU Size
095150 20 gallon drum
095124 4 x 1 gallon/case

Zep commercial doesn't even list the "concentrated cherry hand cleaner" at all. I saw that avanced auto sells it by the gallon online. It's cheaper than the Cherry Bomb, which makes me wonder if there are any differences between the products.

But at this point, it doesn't make a difference. I can order the Gojo cherry from MSC or elsewhere online, it smells like cherry candy, and cuts through grease and grime as well as I could hope for.

Sorry, it's $6.25 right now!

The nice thing about Cherry Bomb is that if you pick your nose, you get to enjoy the smell a lot longer. I read about that on the Drudge Report...they don't lie.

I recall previous threads, it was noted by several people that the best handcleaner was Zep TKO. I've never tried it, but it is quite expensive, something like $65 or $70 for a case of 4 gallon jugs. Keep thinking I might get a gallon to see how it does.

So what's the problem? Just get the 20 gallon size!
At the rate I use hand cleaner at home, it will take me years to go through that!

Is the Cherry Bomb the same as Industrial Cherry Hand cleaned on eBay?
I'm not sure. A Zep press release says that the "commercial" line is aimed towards DIYers and such and was to be marketed at retail auto parts stores.

I'm thinking that it's a different formula. 1 gallon of the commerical stuff is $20 via Advanced Auto. The real Cherry Bomb formula is a few dollars more.

Plus, why wouldn't they just call it Cherry Bomb if the formula was similar?

And as for "cherry liquid hand cleaner with abrasive", why wouldn't they just say "pumice"? Plus that's a liquid, not a gel.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind for the next time I'm ready to try a new formula!

Good Lord, are you seriously worrying about what fruit scent you just have to have in your hand cleaner? Might want to check your shorts there and see if you can determine a gender...

Who said I'm worrying, I more or less found what I was looking for! Industrial heavy-duty hand cleaner that smells like cherry candy.

I like ZEP cherru bomb, but that smell will wear on you also. And if you use too much, it will leave a film on your hands..

At the shop we have a gray scruby cleaner made from walnut shells, It has no smell and works better than any orange or cherry soap. its awesome. We get it from the cintas guy.

In all seriousness, sometimes I use pumice hand cleaners a few times a month, other times it's a few times before lunch. I've grown to hate the scent or orange cleaners, and my wife is somewhat intolerant to the smell as well.

One option is to use a combination of household degreasers and soaps with sea salt or a pumice stone, but that's too much of a hassle. So the other option, find an alternative that's known to work well. I couldn't find Cherry Bomb, but I saw Zep Cherry Gel and gave it a try. I like it, it cuts grease, and smells great, like candy.

Why do you care so much about my finding a hand cleaner that works well without smelling foul?

my results the same. cherry bomb will dry the f out of your hands. the cintas walnut shell stuff does same job, but keeps my ***** petters from getting chafed and dried out. pro to the cherry bomb stuff though is on those days where you get dirt on your face and say f-it and use the hand cleaner on the face-- well the cherry bomb doubles as a nice fragrance.

the cintas stuff i *think* is the same stuff snap on sells on the truck. looks the same, feels the same on my hands, and cleans the same. albeit the cinstas is in a bigger bottle. snappy has these thin streamlined bottles w/ the hang up dispensers. cintas is a big *** jug on a hang up dispenser.

Walnut shells? Never tried it, but I'm open minded. I do like sea salt, though.

Gojo freeze dried scrubbing soap. I can have oils and grease and all sorts of stuff on my hands and with one wash be clean as can be. Never used anything like it and bears no resemblance in smell or cleaning power to gojo's more famous products.

I prefer non scented soaps. Or peppermint for around the house. Dr broners. All natural and works great.

quick net search leads me to Kretso making the walnut shell hand cleaner that cintas/snapon sells.

can buy direct form the company too.

http://www.krestohandcleaner.com/kresto.html

my work uses the 2000ml bottles. probably burn through 2 a week w/ 20 employees.

yeah thats the stuff, It used to come in a plastic squeeze tube with about twice as much in it.

I also keep a bar of lava and some dish soap in the shop sink at the house, It never dries up or seperates like some of the gel/liquid soaps do.

Hey, Zep Cherry Bomb is just fine. Especially, since I got it for free. It does everything I ask of it and I'm a dirty boy. The wife used to complain after using original Gogo, I was the "stinky boy". No problems now. Oh, and did I mention, the Cherry Bomb was free?
