CHI Garage Door opinion

Getting close to being ready to get a garage door installed. Any opinions on CHI garage doors? 12' wide x 11 tall insulated is what I need . I called a local guy and CHI is what he sells.

Ive installed 7 CHI doors between my old house and shop and my new shop. They are high quality doors. I have always bought the insulated with metal on the inside and have been very happy with everyone of them.

I had a CHI that was a very nice and solid door (just like ^). Much better then the cheap *** doors the previous owners put in our current house.

Have a 16x7 r13 foam insulated door installed last year. Its been great. Agree with above get the foam inhected door with metal backing.

I use CHI doors in the metal buildings I sell.

Chi is a good brand. But like all the others, they have different grades of quality and insulation thickness and type. The thickness of skin varies with models so you have to do some learnin on that. The dealer should be able to explain the different values of each model. Good luck.

They are made in a town about an hour from us. We were going to buy them for our new house. Our builder wanted to use fiberglass ones made by the company the guy that started CHI started after selling CHI. He did not dislike CHI. He was buddies with the owner of the fiberglass manufacturer.

I've got a CHI on my garage. Other than my son backing into a CLOSED door trying to get OUT of the garage, no problems.

Very happy with the door!

Mine is the metal insulated also.

My door installer who I trust just put CHI doors on my house. Insulated, steel backed. Very nice doors.

I have 2 of the CHI 2216 doors, one is 10x12, and the other is 10x16, and they have standard garage door seals. I had a thermal camera brought in to check for leaks all around my building after I put in the MrCool DIY mini-split, and the doors had nearly zero leaks around them. I live in NE Florida on the coast, and it was 94 F with a 106 heat index yesterday, and the shop was easily kept at a nice 78F all day.

I'm very happy with them, and would certainly purchase them again if I built another shop or house.
