I started my project a few weeks ago not before going through countless threads here looking for ideas and inspiration. Let me taker a minute to hank everyone who contributes to this community. You guys rock!

Now, my house is fairly new construction, going on to 6 years old in a few months. Garage was obviously drywalled on a Friday or a Monday as they put zero effort on making it look nice. I am no drywall expert but that taping job has got to be one of the worst I've ever seen.

My main goal is to make this garage look nice and basically make it an extension of the living space. East and south (door opener) walls have zero insulation. I will add Roxul and drywall appropriately. I've been researching insulation options for the trusses but honestly still am confused. I will post later asking for advice on this.

Here's what I started with.

Keep in mind this is my first big drywall job so there are some imperfections which I am OK with. Here's after some Behr drywall primer

Here's the top color completed (Behr Toasted Marshmallow) along with some Gladiator stuff to help get rid of the mess.

And with bottom color (Martha Stewart - Carraway Seed)

I like the color combo. Any idea on how you are going to finish out the ceiling? Also, where do all those doors lead??

For the ceiling I really like the sense of space I get by leaving it open. However, that limits insulation options. Also, I may feel claustrophobic If I drywall it at 9 ft. So to answer the question, as of right now I have no idea. Immediate plan is to leave it as-is until someone here sells me on something.

Door are as follows:

- right of Gladiator - laundry room & kitchen
- left of Gladiator - path between the houses
- door with the Target bag and leash - HVAC and water heater

BTW, there will be a 4" line between the colors in Behr Jalapeño Red.

Your drywall work looks excellent. Mine was the same way. The tape job sucked because they did the minimum the had to and called it good.

Any plans for the ceiling yet? You'll find some great ideas on this board - sheetrock, corrugated steel, suspended ceiling, etc.

About the Martha Stewart paint...we'll try not to tell anyone:D

Update: Installed 42" plasma and painted the 5" strip. I can't remember who it was but whoever suggested painting over the tape with the color that is behind it deserves a high five. That line came out absolutely perfect.

Also started doing Roxul on the north wall. Love how easy it is to work with that thing. This week I'll be installing the structured wiring enclosure next to the electrical panel.

Finally, I got a Qsee DVR surveillance system which I'll be reviewing in detail later on. Great solution for those looking for something affordable to see what's going on around the house.

You are off to a great start, I have a similar size garage 18X18 plus a 6X16 shed built on the back side, for all of the lawn tools. I'm going to insulate and vinyl side mine this summer and look forward to getting ideas for the ceiling. From you and other members.
