Picked up a Chicago Force Drill Press for FREE last night!!

Heavy Duty Press
5/8" Chuck
JT3 Spindle
5 speed
1/2 HP
New in 1987

I haven't had the chance to even see if it runs. It's still in the back of the truck while at work here.

did I mention it came with a wilton vise on it!! New in 94 I think. I'll have to dig deeper on that though.

Problem: the lower horizontal stand portion is broken off. Any ideas where I could order one!!

I'll take some pics in the morning!!

Edit: Pics added

Weld up some angle iron (old bed frame) and toss a sand bag over the base for weight (or anchor to floor).

I hate to be Mr. Buzz Killington here, but that is a run-of-the-mill $40-$50 drill press when new. I can't see it being worth buying a base for it. Let it go.

Figued as much! Couldn't find much on it but haven't looked much either.

An alternate reality in a parallel universe.
Get ahold of a tool & die shop or a metal stamping company in your area, talk to them about your situation and explain you would like to get a die shoe (preferably a top die shoe) from a scrapped die. Most of them will have two or more pins in them or bushings (depends if they are ball bearing pin sets or not. You can use one of those as a base, most die are contructed of 1.5" or thicker steel and 18" x 12" or bigger are very common.
