I have one of them with about 25 hours on it now. I used it during the October blizzard up here, no power for 4 days. It couldn't run much but it kept me in lights, tv, and computer during that time.

I checked frequency, it's fairly stable at around 60.5-61 hz. Volts was about 115-122 depending on the load.

It's pretty quiet. My neighbors didn't notice it running until they saw the lights.

I love that little generator! It's just enough to for power tools that don't come cordless like big drills or a circular saw. Mine has over 100 hours on it and still runs great, I think I only spent $79.

Quieter than a lot of small 4 stroke engines available...

They've come a long way. I bought their first little putt putt back in the day. You fired it up and had to hand set the throttle to your load, no turning lights on and off!
It made a mighty 350 watts max, but I put a lot of hours on that little ****** using it with my camper in the back country. It had 12v DC too, so that was good peace of mind 4 miles down a rutted two track.

It idles and runs more consistent (less surging) with the NGK plug which makes for a cleaner more stable voltage output.

I see guys using them at the track to run their battery chargers. I've never had much luck with two stroke motors so I avoid them.

That is funny. A generator to help start another generator.

I have a couple of versions of that generator. One has a manual throttle, a tube cage frame and an inverter setup. It's rated for 1,000 watts. It's branded "gio" and it came off Ebay for under $100. I can turn down the throttle if its just running a few lights and it will run for 10 hours on a gallon.
The second one is at a camp and we use it lots in winter because the 2 stroke is much easier in cold weather. We've put over a hundred gallons of gas through this one and it still runs great. It's a "King Canada" brand
The only problem we had was that the fuel tank developed a stress crack and leaks. I by-passed the tank and feed it with a 6 gallon outboard motor tank and hose now.

Take a few minutes and go over all the nuts and bolts with some locktite and consider padding the gas tank mounts with some rubber washers or something similar.

On some of these there was a problem with vapour lock, especially if you run out of fuel and refill it hot. It's a real PITA when it's dark and you're well into happy hour. I cured this on both of mine by loosening the fuel petcock mounting and turning it a quarter turn. This re-routes the gas line slightly Insulating the fuel hose would probably work as well.
