I've searched the net high and low and haven't been able to find any reviews or info on Chicago Pneumatic air compressors. I've used their air tools for a long time and know that they are made by (Or at least used to be) Atlas Copco and they work like a champ. I have a chance to pick up a brand new RCP-381VS new on the pallet for 1200 bucks which is anywhere from 400-800 bucks off the normal retail price. The only thing I've been able to find on the net is the generic specs from the CP website. I spoke with distributor and he told me a little about the compressor. He says it has a heavy duty Baldor 1725 rpm motor and the compressor is an Italian made motor that's very durable. He told me that the air compressors are assembled in North Carolina in the same place as the Bel-Aire units and that they are both owned by Atlas Copco. If anyone has any experience with this particular unit please chime in and let me know how you liked it, any problems etc. I was ready to pull the trigger on a Quincy QT54 (Economy version) or the FS Curtis 555VT6 until I found this CP compressor while looking on our local Craigslist.
