I got an older CP impact mode 40 RSS. I am trying to find some info on this impact. Can't locate on CP website. Anybody know anything about this impact?

I am specifically looking to find out how well of a built impact it is, how to maintain it, the specs, and how t use the adjustment knob on the bottom which I believe is for torbue settings.

Thanks

I don't know how old a 40 RSS is, but I have a CP 734 - 1/2" impact that I bought new in about 1979/80
I used it daily in my work as a mechanic for ten years or so, and then semi-frequently for another ten, and occasionally since then.
It still works fine today.
I drip a couple drops of air tool oil in it every couple of times I use it.

No idea on that impact, but I do really like their tools though. Most of their stuff is made in Taiwan now but still really nice in my experience. I have a CP7748 impact wrench, and it's the most powerful 1/2" impact I've used. Picked up an IR 2135QTiMAX, but wasn't happy with the feel of the buttons and switch, and it also couldn't get a few bolts loose for me. Picked up the CP7748 for almost 1/2 the price and it zipped those bolts no problem. Very nice feel too. I now have impact sockets, a 1/2 air ratchet, and an air saw from them as well.

I'd give them a call, maybe one of the service kits for something from the Classic line will fit.
