Chicago pneumatic

I was at a motorcycle swap meet this weekend and some dude was selling Chicago Pneumatic tools. I was looking at one of those close quarter right angle drills. It had a made in Taiwan sticker on it. Taiwan ? Is this normal? I'm not familiar with ANY of their tools . Please enlighten me.

Yeah that stuff is made in riceland. I have a few of their higher end 1/2 impacts and I love them. I have abused the **** out of them for 10 years and they are all still going strong.

They have some impact sockets that I was going to buy, but I opted to buy craftsman because of the ease of getting them replaced. Only cost $30.00 more for each set. Money well spent in the long run.

CP has been owned and operated by many parent companies (including at one time a French conglomerate -- yuck!!) As the ownership changed, CP moved much of the low level - high volume tool production to Asia --- first Japan, and then Taiwan. That said, the tools from these countries are very good quality.
